Sharks do not have bones. Most sharks have good eyesight; they have night vision and can see colors. Sharks have special electroreceptor organs. Shark skin feels similar to sandpaper. Based on fossil scales found in Australia and the United States, we know that sharks first appeared in the ocean around 455 million years ago. Many sharks are top predators in the food chain.
